- A variety of entertainment will be available for everyone at the Atherton Showgrounds
Centre Ring is alive with activity over the two days with all the Show Jumping and horse-riding events. The best Beef and Dairy cattle will be displayed on Tuesday, including local school students showing off their skills in handling their beasts. The Show programme includes the Grand Parade on Tuesday afternoon at 1.30pm.
Miller’s Marionette Theatre will entertain the kids non-stop throughout both show days. Garage World Atherton is proudly presenting the Theatre on the Basketball Court at the back of Merriland Hall.
Dairy Farmers will have fun and games for the kids down at the Animal Nursery, including sack races and a huge mural to be painted. Look for the big dairy cow.
While you are down that way, take a look through the Giant Kaleidoscope near the Louise Street Gate.
You won’t be able to miss the roving Stilt Walkers on their stilts as they roam around the grounds.
This year’s Main Arena entertainment will include the fabulous local talents of Flameable Fire Tribe.
Tom Mauloni’s Working Dog display is sure to entertain the crowd. You can catch Tom’s performance on Monday night.
The Tablelands Regional Council Fireworks Spectacular will again thrill the crowd at the end of Monday\'s events. Commencing at 8.30pm in Centre Ring, the display is well-known as being the biggest and best fireworks show in the region.
For those who would like to stay on and enjoy some good music into the night, Swamp Dogs will be playing in the Rotunda Bar from 9pm until midnight.
- The theme for this year’s NAIDOC is “Honouring our Elders and Nurturing our Youth”. To celebrate this year’s theme, the Tableland NAIDOC Working Group has organised several activities and events that will help raise awareness, promote understanding and respect, encourage development of positive attitudes, and inform the wider community about the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, society and the contemporary issues that impact on indigenous people.
In working with the theme, “Honouring our Elders and Nurturing our Youth” the planned activities and events organized for this year are as follows:
• Indigenous Pioneers display, and opening morning tea (Monday)
• Art and Craft workshops (Elders nurturing youth and children) (Tuesday & Wednesday)
• Indigenous Film night featuring black films (Thursday)
• Fun and sports day/ March/ community stalls (Friday) organized by Wuchopperen (Social Health Unit & Midin Clinic)
• Talent Show/Concert (Friday night)
• NAIDOC Dinner and Indigenous Community Awards (Saturday night) Limited seating
• Community Bar-B-Que (Sunday)
To ensure that we have a good turn out for each activity or event, we are strongly encouraging everyone in the community to take part, whichever way you may want to be involved.

- A re-sensitising two day workshop to help balance the connection of head, heart and body; incorporating intuitive painting, communication with silence, connection with earth and water and hands on healing.
Time: 9:30am to 3:30pm both days

Cost: $65.00 for the weekend and includes painting materials and handouts.

- Mareeba Rodeo celebrates it's Diamond Jubilee 60th Anniversary this year. With all the usual rodeo events including bull ride, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, ladies and junior events also the Comedy Clown, Mazda Teams Relay, Interstate Rodeo Challenge Qld-v-NSW, Beaut Ute Muster, Woodchops, Stud Beef Cattle Show and the Agricultural Show Exhibition Marquee.
There is a diverse range of sideshows, rides and stalls to visit and excellent amenities to cater for all patrons.

- Commencing Tuesday July 14 from 9:30am - 12:30pm this four week course promotes self understanding and the development of interactive skills to build personal confidence.

- A day of song that will lift your spirits and give you some new music to take back to your group, community or family. Lots of rounds, chants and short songs in part harmony, a few longer but simple songs that quickly find a group sounding like a choir of angels and something well known that we can play with. Bring recording devices and a plate of food to share at lunchtime which will be preceeded by some great food songs!

Barb McFarlane has been leading singing groups in Melbourne for seven years and has had training with the wonderful Community Music Victoria.
She is committed to the idea of singing as a community building activity and as a way of increasing wellbeing.
A former Far North Queenslander, she is also a past member of Woyaya and the Frangipani Girls.

- From July 23 hundreds of motorhomes from all over Australia will converge on Mareeba's Davies Park. The 12th annual Christmas in July dinner will be held on the Saturday night, July 25.
The public are invited to the Open Day from 10am to 2pm Sunday July 26. Come and take a look in the motorhomes and see what the nomadic life is all about.

- This inaugural event will be held in the morning at Atherton State High School - on the oval. Proudly sponsored by Australia Post, this fundraising event supports the Mater Mother's and Mater Children's Hospitals in Brisbane, where many seriously ill babies and children are transferred to each year, from regional and remote locations across Queensland - including Atherton. The event is intended to be a fun morning out with family, friends and co-workers. There will be entertainment for the kids, prizes and giveaways.
